CFC Sports club is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 by a group of active road cycling fans and advocates to enhance the sport of cycling in Estonia. In 2003, with the help of Jaan Kirsipuu who at the time was one of the world best sprinters in the pro peloton, was started cycling school for young aspiring athletes. Jaan Kirsipuu cycling school is training around 80 young athletes with four coaches. In 2006, Estonian cross-country skier Jaak Mae joined the club and Jaak Mae skiing school was started in order to deliver the best training possibilities for young skiers. By now, skiing school is training around 150 kids with 5 coaches. Those 230 kids, their parents and around 40 active club members are at the heart of CFC Sports club. In addition to youth training CFC is actively organising races. In cycling, we are organising an elite road group race in memory of pro-racer Lauri Aus who was killed by a drunk driver back in 2003. Since 2004 Lauri Aus memorial is one of the top races in the Baltic states area. By now, we have developed this day to be more a family cycling festival where the pro race is just one of many events during the day. On top of that, we are organising a TTP youth tour for the rising talent of Estonia and its neighbouring countries. In the sport of cross country skiing, CFC is responsible for at least one pre-season roller skiing event every year as well as one stage of Estonian National Championships.
